The Building Exploratory

Platform3 has won the commission to develop a website for the Building Exploratory's project Religion & Place due to launch at the end of January.

In August 2004 the Building Exploratory completed a proposal for an audience development project about the religious buildings of Tower Hamlets. The project was designed to communicate English Heritage' Religion and Place in Tower Hamlets research to a wider audience. The first stage, 'Interpretation', was realised through schools workshop projects which inform the creation of 10 ‘Faith Chests’ by local artists. The second stage will consist of a graphic map, printed document and a a virtual guide (website). The project will culminate in a community exhibition in February 2008.

The website will include a dynamic map of the 187 places of worship in London Borough of Tower Hamlets as well as educational resources. All site content will be available in English, Bengali and Somalian.
